To me, one of the most beautiful things about travel is the fact that every day is different. There are no routines, no set rules, or no expectations. You can do what you want, whenever you please. I have been traveling the world together with my wife for over thirty years now and one of the things we love the most is the freedom that travel and this lifestyle gives us. Travel breaks down routines, monotony and brings back some adventure, excitement, and exploration to people’s lives.

Everyone learns the Philippines got discovered in 1521. Almost no one learns that its ancestors did the discovering first, sailing an ocean nobody else on Earth dared to cross. This is the real story of the Austronesian expansion: the language family that started in the northern Philippines and ended up spoken on Madagascar, in Hawaii, and on Easter Island, stretching more than half the way around the planet before Europe ever built a ship that could survive open ocean.
We dug through the actual evidence: a jade workshop on a hilltop in Batanes, nine ancient boats pulled from a riverbed in Mindanao, a 3,000-year-old grave in Vanuatu where every skull tells a different story than the textbooks do, and a DNA study that traces thirty women crossing 5,000 miles of open water to found an entire nation off the coast of Africa. For two centuries, Western historians insisted all of it happened by accident. One man, in 1976, ended that argument for good.
